Okay, so my buddy sent me a marriage invitation, a really fancy one. And I was like, “Man, I gotta do something special for this, not just a regular store-bought card.” So, I decided to create my own personalized “thanks for the invitation” card. This is how it went down.

Brainstorming & Gathering Supplies
First, I brainstormed some ideas. I wanted it to be personal, reflecting our friendship and, of course, congratulating them. I thought about inside jokes, memorable moments, and their wedding theme (it’s rustic, by the way!).
Then, I gathered my supplies. I’m not a super crafty person, but I do have some basic stuff:
- Cardstock paper (a nice, thick one in cream color)
- Colored pens (I had a set with various shades)
- Some old magazines (for potential cut-outs, you know)
- Glue stick (the trusty old glue stick, never fails)
- Scissors
- A ruler(To make it a little bit professional)
The Creation Process
I started by folding the cardstock paper in half. I used the ruler to make a perfect line! It already looked card-ish.
Next step, I decided to do a simple, hand-lettered message on the front.
So I gently draw a line with pencil, and I wrote “So Happy For You Two!” in my best handwriting (which, admittedly, isn’t that great, but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?). I used a dark brown pen to fit with their rustic theme.
Then came the inside. I wanted to write a heartfelt message, something more than just “Congratulations!”. I reminisced a bit with some good memories, and wrote a few sentences about how happy I was for them and how excited I was to celebrate their big day.
After the message, I thought it looked a little plain. I flipped through the magazines and found a small picture of a cute little bird, it seemed a bit relevant. I carefully cut it out and glued it below my message. Perfect!
The Finishing Touches
Finally, I added some small details. I used a gold-colored pen to draw a simple border around the edges of the card. It was a little wobbly, but I think it added a touch of “handmade charm.”
And that’s it! My very own, personalized “thanks for the invitation” card. I’m pretty proud of it, to be honest. It’s not perfect, but it’s made with love, and I think they’ll appreciate that. I’m putting it in an envelope and sending it tomorrow. Mission accomplished!
