Alright, so, today I wanna talk about saying “thank you” to folks who visit our church. It’s a small thing, but it can make a big difference, you know? Let me tell you about what I did last week.

First off, I got everyone together – the staff, the volunteers, you name it. We had a little meeting to brainstorm how we could make our visitors feel extra welcome. We decided to put together a simple “thank you” message. Nothing fancy, just a heartfelt note to show our appreciation.
I remember thinking, “What would I want to hear if I were visiting a new church?” So, I started by jotting down a few ideas. I wanted to keep it short and sweet, but also personal. No one wants a generic, robotic message, right?
- First, I made sure to address the visitor by their name. That’s important, it shows you actually see them as a person, not just another face in the crowd.
- Then, I expressed our sincere gratitude for them taking the time to visit. I wrote something like, “On behalf of the staff and congregation, I want to take the opportunity to thank you for visiting our church this past Sunday.”
- I also thought it would be nice to mention something specific about their visit, if possible. Maybe they attended a particular event or had a conversation with someone. Just a little detail to show we were paying attention.
- Oh, and I included a Bible verse that I felt was relevant. You know, something about welcoming others and showing love. It’s a nice touch, I think.
- Finally, I added a personal note at the end, just to make it feel a bit more like a handwritten letter rather than a mass-produced email.
Once the message was ready, we started sending them out. We used email, mostly, but we also handed out printed cards to visitors as they were leaving the service. Just a little something they could take with them. The church members expressed appreciation to the church as well, saying it is the integral part of the church.
And you know what? People really appreciated it. I got so many positive responses. Some folks even said it made them want to come back again. It’s amazing what a simple “thank you” can do.
So yeah, that’s my little story about thanking church visitors. It’s not rocket science, but it’s something that can make a real impact. If you’re involved in a church or any kind of community, I encourage you to give it a try. You might be surprised at the results!
