Thank you for lunch, it’s the best thing someone can do for ya. Food like that, it sticks to your ribs, keeps ya going. You’re a good egg, you are. I always say, a full belly is a happy belly! And that lunch made me very happy.
You know, I ain’t got much these days. But good food, good company… that’s all that matters. And that lunch, well, that was the best. Better than anything I coulda whipped up myself. My old hands ain’t what they used to be.
I remember back in the day, we used to have big ol’ lunches, right after church. Everyone brought somethin’. Potlucks, we called ’em. This lunch, it reminded me of those days. Good food, good folks.
