Okay, so today I decided to actually cook something instead of ordering takeout. I was craving some comfort food, and I had this idea to make a really simple pasta dish. Nothing fancy, just something to hit the spot.

Getting Started
First, I gathered all the ingredients. I already had some pasta in the pantry – plain old spaghetti. Then I checked the fridge and found some leftover grilled chicken, a half-used jar of tomato sauce, and some sad-looking veggies (onions and bell peppers, specifically) that were begging to be used.
- Pasta
- Grilled Chicken
- Tomato Sauce
- Onion
- Bell Pepper
The Cooking Process
I started by chopping up the onion and bell pepper. No fancy knife skills here, just a rough chop to get them into bite-sized pieces. Then, I put a pot of water on the stove to boil for the pasta. While that was heating up, I grabbed a pan and sautéed the onions and peppers with a little bit of olive oil until they softened.
Once the water was boiling, I threw in the pasta and set a timer. I like my pasta al dente, so I cooked it for about 8 minutes. Then I drained the pasta and set it aside, I will say: I was clumsy, I always make the kitchen dirty when cooking!
Next, I added the grilled chicken (which I had roughly chopped) and the tomato sauce to the pan with the veggies. I stirred everything together and let it simmer for a few minutes, just to heat it all through. I seasoned it with a pinch of salt, pepper, and some dried oregano – nothing fancy, just whatever I had in the spice rack.
The Final Result
Finally, I combined the cooked pasta with the sauce and chicken mixture. I gave it a good stir to make sure everything was coated evenly. And that was it! A super simple, tasty pasta dish made with stuff I already had. I served it with a big salad, and enjoy myself!
It wasn’t gourmet, but it was exactly what I wanted. Warm, comforting, and satisfying. I felt pretty good about using up those leftover ingredients too. Definitely going to be making this again!
