Alright, so I’ve been playing around with this idea of writing a thank you note, but from my dog’s perspective. Sounds kinda goofy, I know, but stick with me here. I started by just jotting down some ideas, thinking about what my dog, Buddy, might be grateful for. You know, the usual stuff: walks, treats, belly rubs.

Then I thought, who am I writing this to? It’s gotta be someone who’s been taking care of Buddy when I’m not around. Our pet sitter, Sarah, came to mind. She’s been a real lifesaver, especially when work gets crazy and I can’t be home as much as I’d like.
So, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen – yeah, old school, I know – and started drafting the note. I tried to channel Buddy’s voice, which was more fun than I expected. “Dear Sarah,” I wrote, “Woof woof, thanks for all the walks and the treats! You’re the best!” I know, pretty basic, but hey, he’s a dog.
But then I wanted to make it a bit more personal. I added in some specific things that Sarah does that Buddy really loves. Like how she always remembers to fill up his water bowl with fresh, cold water, or how she throws his favorite tennis ball just the way he likes it.
I also made sure to mention how much I appreciate her, too. I mean, it’s not just Buddy who’s grateful, right? I wrote something like, “Buddy’s human here, just wanted to add my thanks, too. You’re a lifesaver, Sarah!”
- Kept it short and sweet.
- Expressed gratitude, both from Buddy and me.
- Mentioned specific things Sarah does that we appreciate.
- Made it personal and heartfelt.
After I finished writing, I read it over a few times, making sure it sounded genuine. I even read it out loud to Buddy, just for kicks. He just wagged his tail, but I like to think he approved.
Finally, I decided to actually give the note to Sarah. I mean, why not, right? It’s a small gesture, but I think it’ll really make her day. Plus, it’s a fun way to show our appreciation for everything she does.
So, that’s the story of how I wrote a thank you note from my dog. It might seem a little silly, but it was a fun little project, and it’s a nice way to show some gratitude to someone who deserves it. Who knows, maybe I’ll start a new trend – dog thank you notes for everyone!
