Happy Thanksgiving Neighbor What to Write in a Thanksgiving Card This Year

Today is Thanksgiving, so I plan to give my new neighbor a little surprise. She moved here last month and seems pretty nice, we have said hi to each other several times.

I decide to send her some food. After all, today is a big day to share food. I go downstairs and buy some ingredients. I am thinking about what to cook. Nah, cooking is too much of a hassle. I think I will just make her a fruit platter. It’s easy, and everyone loves fruits, right?

So, I pick up some apples, bananas, and some grapes. These should be enough. I also grab a knife and a plate, just in case she doesn’t have any. Gotta be prepared, you know.

Back home, I wash all the fruits carefully. Then, I peel the apples and bananas, slice them up, and arrange them nicely on the plate. I put the grapes around the edges. It looks pretty good, if I say so myself.

Now, for the final touch. I remember seeing some cute Thanksgiving cards at the store. It’s a bit cheesy, but hey, it’s the thought that counts. I write on the card: “Happy Thanksgiving, neighbor! Hope this fruit platter brightens your day. Welcome to the community!” Simple and sweet.

I put the card on the plate and head over to her place. I knock on the door, and she opens it with a surprised look. I hand over the fruit platter and the card. “Happy Thanksgiving!” I say with a smile.

  • She seems genuinely touched and thanks me repeatedly.
  • We chat for a bit, and she invites me in for a cup of coffee.
  • I happily accept.

We spend the next hour talking and getting to know each other better. Turns out, she’s a teacher and loves reading, just like me! We even exchange book recommendations.

Sharing food is good

It’s moments like these that make me appreciate the little things in life. Sharing food, making new friends, and celebrating a holiday together – it’s what Thanksgiving is all about. I’m glad I took the time to do something nice for my neighbor. It made both of us happy, and that’s what truly matters.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the new friendship and the opportunity to share some joy with someone else. It’s a good reminder that small acts of kindness can go a long way. And who knows, maybe this will become a Thanksgiving tradition for us!
