After gathering all these ideas, I started writing. I wanted to make it personal, so I shared a specific story about how our pastor had helped me through a tough time. I also thanked him for his dedication to our church and how much we all appreciate him. I went through a few drafts, tweaking things here and there until it felt just right. It wasn’t perfect, but it was from the heart. When I was happy, I put it on a card.
Finally, it was time to deliver the message. I decided to write it in a card and give it to him after service. I was a little nervous, to be honest, but when I handed it to him, he had the biggest smile on his face. He thanked me and said it meant a lot to him. That made all the effort worth it.
