Okay, so I wanted to do something special for Pastor Appreciation Month. I thought, “What better way to show my gratitude than with a heartfelt Bible verse?” But honestly, I was a bit overwhelmed at first. Where to even begin?

First, I grabbed my Bible. I mean, that seemed like the obvious starting point, right? Then I started flipping through it, aimlessly, hoping something would jump out. Nothing did. I felt a little lost. So, I decided to try a different approach.
I opened up my laptop and typed “pastor appreciation Bible verses” into the search bar. I scrolled through a bunch of websites, some were helpful, some…not so much. I jotted down a few verses that seemed promising, but none of them felt quite right.
I thought about my pastor. What makes him so special? What qualities do I appreciate most? He’s kind, patient, always there to lend an ear, and he delivers powerful sermons that really make you think.
Then it hit me. One verse I had found popped back into my head:
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
- “And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.”
I reread the verse.
It perfectly captured my feelings. It’s all about recognizing the hard work and dedication of our spiritual leaders.
So, I grabbed a nice piece of cardstock and my best pen. I carefully wrote out the verse, adding a little personal note of thanks at the bottom. I even decorated the card with some simple drawings. It wasn’t perfect, but it was from the heart.
I gave the card and my pastors really like the verse, It made the work worth it. I’m glad I was able to find the perfect bible verse to express the feelings for my pastor’s hard work!
