It’s Christmas time again, and I was feeling that familiar itch to do something a little special, a little crafty. I decided to make some personalized “thank you” notes this year. I figured it’d be a nice touch to show my appreciation to everyone who’s been part of my life, big or small.
First, I gathered all my materials. I’m talking about:
- Colorful cardstock – I went for a mix of festive reds, greens, and some classic whites.
- Glitter pens – because who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle?
- Regular pens – for the actual writing, you know.
- Some cute Christmas-themed stickers. Reindeer, snowflakes, the whole shebang.
- Envelopes – Gotta have something to put the cards in!
Then I started with the cardstock. I wanted a standard size, so I just folded each sheet in half. Nothing fancy, just a simple fold. Make sure it’s neat, you don’t want crooked cards.
Getting to the Fun Part
With the cards ready, I grabbed my pens. For the front of each card, I decided to go with a simple “Thank You” in big, bold letters. I used the glitter pens for this, naturally. I alternated colors to make it look more festive and less uniform.
I added the stickers. I didn’t want to overdo it, so I picked one or two small ones per card. A little reindeer here, a snowflake there. You get the idea. Just a bit of Christmas cheer, nothing too crazy.
Next, I flipped the card open and wrote my personal messages. I didn’t want some generic, copy-paste message. I thought about each person and wrote something specific to them. Like, “Thanks for always bringing cookies to the office!” or “Thanks for being such a great neighbor and always helping with the snow!” Just something to make them smile.
Finally, I placed each card in its envelope. I also scribbled name on each envelope.
That’s pretty much it! It took a few evenings, but it was totally worth it. It felt good to create something personal and express my gratitude in a handmade way. Plus, it was a fun little project to get into the Christmas spirit!
